We already had the 80 piece bag of Mega Bloks, which my 2 year old daughter has played with extensively since she was introduced to them in her day care class. She really enjoys putting every block we have into a single tower, knocking it over and starting again.
The bag is great for storage. Strong plastic, woven cloth handles. The one I received was red, not yellow, so the picture may be different from the bag you receive also.
As fas as bloks go, the 200 piece set contained several pieces that my 80 piece set did not. I got a set of wheels, two "roof"-shaped pieces (or nose-cones) and at least one 90-degree angled piece.
Highly recommend for toddlers to satisfy the building urge. Light-weight, robust, colorful, easy to assemble and disassemble, hard to swallow. Of course always use adult supervision. |
These mega bloks DON'T contain chemicals like 1 reviewer said!

These blocks are great for motor skill development and allow a child to use his or her imagination. I would not want parents not to purchase this toy because of incorrect information they receive about this product from a review (kids love this toy!) I did an internet search for "mega bloks harmful chemicals" and discovered this excerpt from one of the web pages I looked at regarding toy safety:
Many toy companies are planning to or already have eliminated phthalates from production surpassing the CPSC's voluntary ban. A recent example is Mega Bloks, a manufacturer of preschool building blocks. In an October 16, 2000 press release, a Mega Bloks spokesman said, "Parents should be reassured that their infants will not be exposed to any phthalates or PVC while playing with Mega Bloks construction toys." NYPIRG commends Mega Bloks and other manufactures for protecting children from potentially toxic chemicals.

| This is one of the best toys I bought for my grandson. He has other Mega Bloks sets and has never grown tired of them. Mega Bloks encourage kids to be creative and the are easy to put together for little hands. I even enjoy playing with these when the kids are playing! |
Great set of blocks with lots of connector pieces

I bought this set for my son who is 19 months old. He loves to play with them. He can't really build anything with them yet, but is getting good coordination skills just putting the blocks together and pulling them apart. He loves to help Mommy and Daddy build things. He also likes to distroy the buildings and say "timber" even when I am not through with my architectual masterpiece (sigh) :-)
There are a lot of blocks and connector blocks (which I read in other reviews that some of the smaller sets didn't have many connector blocks). Plenty to build with. Love the large size of the blocks too!
I purchased a second 200 peice Megabloc set just like this one a couple weeks after buying the first one. I haven't opened it yet, but I know we will as my son's (and myself's) buildings get bigger. They are a lot of fun!!! |

We purchased a set of MegaBlocks from amazon.com and our grandchildren were absolutely thrilled with them. They came in a large carrying case that they can keep them in when not in use. When I first decided to buy these types of blocks I went shopping online at Walmart.com to see a comparison, well I couldn't find them online at all. I went to the local Walmart but for the price I paid on amazon I got AT LEAST twice as many blocks for the same price as what I would have paid at walmart.
Our grandchildren loved building towers with these blocks, they are 3 & 4 yrs old. I highly recommend amazon and these blocks to anyone looking for a good toy for children. It is larger than regular legos and much easier for little hands to assemble. |
